Decide what you want to be hired for

Create practice projects that look real

Invent a client and do the job as if you were paid. A writer drafts three blog posts for a made-up coffee brand. A designer builds a logo and social kit for a fictional gym. A VA sets up a sample inbox system and documents it. Make it specific and finished, not a half-idea.

Redo real work you admire, too. Rewrite a clunky landing page, redesign a menu, re-edit a raw clip. Show the before and after so the improvement is obvious.

Present it so a busy client gets it in ten seconds

For each piece, write one line on the goal, one on what you did, and one on the result or thinking. Keep the layout plain and the work big. A free Notion page, a Google Drive folder, or a simple Carrd site all work. You don’t need a fancy website to start.

Turn your first real job into a case study

Put it where clients already look
